Continuing Education Series For Managers To Be Offered

Beginning this fall, The Quality Coach!^® in Washington, Missouri is teaming up with East Central College to offer a set of classes designed for supervisors and managers. The classes will provide guidance for new and experienced supervisors in navigating the changes associated with leading and managing others. The classes qualify for Continuing Education Credits.

The classes are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at The Quality Coach!^® Learning Center, 1451 High Street, Washington, MO. The cost per class is $99 per participant.

The first four courses in the series, including dates and descriptions, are listed below.

From Individual Contributor to Supervisor - 9/16/10
The transition to Supervisor or Manager can be a challenging one. This course provides helpful guidance for managers and supervisors to navigate the changes associated with leading and managing others. Appropriate for experienced supervisors as well as new supervisors, participants will be able to relate their experience to the key shifts required for success.

Supervisory Communication Skills - 10/21/10
Misunderstandings are a leading cause of safety, quality, customer service, productivity and general workplace problems. Since managers are a key source of information and direction, leading and managing others requires one to pay careful attention to his or her communication. This course provides a perfect opportunity to tune up your communication skills and add a few new communication tools to your "supervisory tool belt."

Leading Meetings That Work - 11/18/10
Unproductive meetings seem to be the source of much frustration in the workplace. One of the ways to truly show leadership as a supervisor or manager is by leading meetings that work. This course is helpful whether you need to lead small meetings or larger ones; whether you need to lead regular meetings or occasional ones. Every manager and supervisor can benefit from this course.

Building Your Team - 12/16/10
Teamwork is commonly spoken about in today's workplace. It is much easier to talk about teamwork than to practice it. As companies and organizations are required to do more with less, true teamwork becomes more and more essential. Managers and supervisors at all levels will tune up their capability to develop teamwork by participating in this course.
