Washington River Festival and Clean-UpThe Washington River Festival and Clean-Up event will be held April 17, 2010 at the Washington Riverfront Park (Lafayette and Front Streets) in Washington, Missouri. The event will consist of a Missouri River clean-up project as well as a festival in the park.

The festival will feature educational exhibits, music, fun family activities, recycled art demonstrations, food, World Bird Sanctuary presentation and more.  The festival will end with an old time square dance with live music.
 
A list of scheduled activities is included below:
World Bird Sanctuary
11 am -11:45 am
Features birds of prey including falcons, hawks, owls and vultures. Sit back and enjoy an up-close and personal view as some of the birds soar right overhead!
 
Fretless
Noon - 12:15 pm
A talented and upbeat Washington High School ensemble directed by Amy Perryman. Acapella arrangements of popular songs with beautiful harmonies!
 
Missouri River “Git That Garbage Trash Contest”
12:15 until 12:30 pm
 
T-Bone
12:30 pm until 1 pm
Shake, rattle and roll your funny bone with T-Bone’s party time! T-Bone, the original tie-dyed cowboy for kids of all ages!
 
The River Rats
1:15 pm until 2:15 pm
Fresh roots music featuring fiddle, guitar, mandolin and bass and wonderful, rich and soulful vocals.
 
Augusta Bottoms Consort
2:30 pm until 3:30 pm
This eclectic local band has been singing and playing songs inspired by the river and its surroundings for a long time! Tight harmonies, original songs and interesting arrangements.
 
Trash to Art Sculpture Auction
3:30 until 4 pm
Sculptures created during the festival from river clean-up trash will be auctioned off by KDHX-FM’s Jean Ponzi.
 
Old Time Dancing!
4 pm until we stop....
Join us for an old-fashioned dance featuring square dances, line, circle dances and mixers. A caller will come and lead us, accompanied by the finest group of old-time musicians in the region....fiddles, guitars, banjos, basses and mandolins.  Great for beginners! No partner necessary!
Volunteers for the river clean-up project will be transported by the Missouri River Relief Crew to a river bank by boat, where they pick up trash.  For additional details on the clean-up project, visit the clean-up project website here:
