Six candidates have filed for Washington, Missouri city offices as of 4:00pm on Tuesday. Tuesday is the first day for filing; the election will be held in April, 2010. Current Ward 2 Councilman Jeff Mohesky has filed for Mayor, while Mark Hidritch has filed for the Ward 2 seat Mohesky will be vacating. Also filing for Council positions are incumbent Tim Overschmidt, Ward 1 and incumbent Carolyn Witt, Ward 4. Current City Attorney, Mark Piontek filed for re-election, as has current Municipal Judge Craig Hellmann. No candidates have filed for the Ward 3 council seat. The Ward 3 seat is currently held by Councilman Guy Midkiff. Midkiff has not indicated if he will run for re-election in April. |
