Because test results for samples from the Washington, Missouri municipal water system taken Monday continued to find ecoli bacteria present, the boil water order will continue to stay in effect for those served by the city's water system. Missouri Department of Natural Resources policy requires two consecutive days of "good" samples before the boil order may be lifted. Because of this policy, at this time the earliest the boil order could be lifted would be on Thursday. The city has begun chlorinating the area affected and, as a result, residents in the area may notice a residual odor of chlorine.
