Lane Closure On Route 47 Bridge Slows Traffic [VIDEO]

As part of the bridge renovation project on the Route 47 Missouri River Bridge in Washington, Missouri, MODOT and its contractor, St. Louis Bridge Construction Company, have reduced traffic to a single lane crossing the bridge.  Motorists now cross the bridge through one-way traffic controlled by operating signals.  The result on Monday was traffic backed up significantly in both directions.  The video below, taken at 4:00pm on Monday, shows northbound traffic backed up to South of 14th Street.

Additional photos below show northbound and traffic at Fifth Street and Blue Jay Drive.  Police officers were assisting with traffic flow through the intersections at both Fifth Street and Third Street.
