The Missouri Department of Transportation and its contractor Fred Weber Inc. will divide the two westbound lanes on Interstate 44 between the Pacific and Route 100 (Washington, Missouri) exits starting Sunday, August 15 at 10 p.m., weather depending.  The eastbound I-44 lanes through this work zone were divided August 10.

Crews will shift traffic to the new inside lane along the barrier wall. One lane of traffic will remain on the outside lane. Motorists can expect delays during these lane closures.

Traffic on the inside lane will not be able to exit at Gray Summit or Washington 100 West. This traffic split will remain until approximately the end of August. The speed limit remains 50 miles per hour through the work zone.

Crews will work seven days a week to replace the center lane.  Motorists can expect only one lane open in each direction through the work zone except for peak hours.  The lanes are opened to two if traffic volumes have more than a 15 minute delay through the work zone.  The work schedule has eastbound with two lanes open between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. Monday through Friday and between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.  Westbound will have two lanes open between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 5 a.m. and 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
