Laura Carder, a registered nurse and certified diabetes educator, will offer a presentation on "Diabetes Medicine Update" at the next Diabetes Support Group meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23. It is a new meeting time for the group. The session will include information about various pills, insulin and other injectable medications used to treat type 1 and type 2 diabetes and tips on how to take medications to get the most benefits from them.

The Diabetes Support Group at St. John's Mercy Hospital offers a variety of interesting programs designed to help people with diabetes stay well and in control. All meetings are free and take place in Classroom A in the Education Department in the St. John's Mercy Medical Building, 851 East Fifth Street in Washington, Missouri. For more information, call the Nutrition and Diabetes Wellness Center at 636-239-8248.
