The Missouri Department of Transportation, and its contractor, Millstone Bangert, Inc., expects to reopen Jones Lane at Route 100 near Washington on Tuesday, June 1, weather permitting. This closure was necessary for three weeks while crews constructed a median crossover at this intersection.

MoDOT will temporarily close St. John's Road, west of Jones Lane, starting Tuesday, June 1 for approximately two weeks. Work consists of crews constructing a median crossover at the St. John's Road and Route 100 intersection.

Detour signs are in place to route traffic around the closure:

* Motorists traveling eastbound and westbound on Route 100 can detour around St. John's Road by using Jones Lane, Route T or Old Route 100.

* Motorists traveling eastbound and westbound on Old Route 100 can access Route 100 by using Jones Lane, Route T or Old Route 100.

Motorists may experience delays during the paving work and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

This work is part of the Route 100 widening project, which is part of a cost-share partnership between MoDOT and the city of Washington. The $21.1 million dollar project will add two additional lanes on Route 100 from Interstate 44 to Route 47. The widening project is expected to be complete in June 2010.
